IMPORTANT – ORDERS TO EU COUNTRIES

Posted on: April 6th, 2021 by Steve No Comments

Please note: orders to Europe may now be subject to additional VAT and import taxes. These are the responsibility of the customer and will be claimed by your government before the parcel is delivered. All international orders should also ideally provide a valid phone number with the order.

Don’t blame us, we didn’t vote for this insane debacle..

IMPORTANT UPDATE 7 JANUARY 2021

Posted on: January 7th, 2021 by Steve No Comments

Faulty Trippin’ Musik:

All replacement black copies of Trippin’ Musik have been shipped. Just to reiterate, these are sent as vinyl only in inners, not complete box sets.

Mail Order:

Due to the hideousness of COVID, and the ridiculousness of Brexit, orders may take considerably longer to arrive than we’d all like them to. We are only going to the Post Office once a week, and sending other orders via courier where it’s possible to do so.

Thanks so much for your support and understanding in these bonkers times.

On a more positive note, there is some great stuff in the pipeline. If you are not already subscribed to the newsletter, please email karen@dirterpromotions.com (subject: “Newsletter subscribe”) to be sure not to miss out.

Trippin’ Musik replacement copies update

Posted on: December 17th, 2020 by Steve No Comments

We have now received the replacement black vinyls and anyone who purchased from us and flagged the issue will be sent copies. These will be sent out after the holidays, as it’s proving to be risky to do so now. For obvious reasons, the courier and postal services are even more overwhelmed than is usual for this time of year. So we will wait until the madness is over and get your copies safely to you.

If you didn’t buy from us, please deal directly with your retailer.

Thank you to everybody, once again, for your patience and support. It’s been a tough year for all of us, but we will hopefully overcome…

Blabbermouth vs. Murray Lachlan Young

Posted on: April 20th, 2020 by Steve No Comments

Whilst we at Dirter HQ remain lazy and locked, the irrepressible Blabbermouth chaps keep on keeping on. This time with a new project with poet Murray Lachlan Young. So at last, there is something happening.

Video – produced by Marek Pytel of Reality Film / visuals by VJ Jules Shapter and live iPhone footage shot at the BBC Radio6 festival – the true dawn of the bag-headed religious order of ‘The Keavenu’ as it actually went down only a few long weeks ago. You can see it here:

You can pay what want for the download here:

You can read all about it here:

BLABBERMOUTH VS MURRAY LACHLAN YOUNG present their new single On The Seventh day.

Blabbermouth are Punk guitar legend Lu Edmonds (PIL, The Damned, Mekons, Shriekback, three Mustaphas3 et al.) and master-drummer Mark Roberts (Massive Attack, The Godfathers & Neneh Cherry) . The duo have now teamed up with Murray Lachlan Young – poet in residence at BBC6music – to unleash a powerful Psych/Prog/Punk spoken-word track “ON THE SEVENTH DAY” taking old testament book of Genesis and rededicating it to the creation of chocolate biscuits (what else?).

Out now, the single is taken from the forthcoming musical collection The Edge of Reason.

After causing a serious stir at the BBC6music festival – when, with upturned orange Sainsbury’s bags on their heads, they conscripted the crowd to become initiates in a new religious order ‘The Keavenu’ – dedicated to the worship of BBC6 music DJ – Shaun Keaveny.

“Like fat white family – free from melodic strictures. Lysergic edicts ejaculated into the unsuspecting audience via the hip priest of poetry MLY supported by one of the most dysfunctionally dynamic bands in town. Plain or Milk? YOU DECIDE” Shaun Keaveny BBC6 Music

BBC Radio 6’s Chris Hawkins, who announced the band, joked that BBCRadio1 had wanted the band for 1’s Big Weekend due to the colossal commerciality of the project – “Surreal. Wicker Man meets Monty Python in complete musical anarchy”, he said later.

Shaun Keaveny, who mysteriously appeared in the room with Doctor Who actor Jodie Wittaker, was immediately ushered on stage and decked out in his own high-priestly robes & upturned orange Sainsbury’s bag hat – to sit on divine Temple Bells.

Broadcasting legend Mark Radcliffe declared the gig ‘Excellent’ but took issue with the mixed messages given by usage (and the possible misusage of) the words – ‘plain’ and ‘dark’ chocolate.

DJ and BBC6music founding father Gideon Coe later played the track on his weekly 6music show – saying it was a “highlight” of the festival (admittedly it was the only act he saw as he wasn’t feeling well).

BBC6 music news’ Matt Everitt, declared the whole thing to be Brilliant and “really quite peculiar”.

Described by crowd-members as: ‘Talking Heads meets Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band’ or ‘What the Fat White Family wish they were’ and ‘it’s the right time for this sort of thing to be happening again (I think)…’.

Murray Lachlan Young & Blabbermouth subsequently decided to go ahead and release the track as a Single, in the hope that there is a place in today’s world for pseudo-religious bombast and wholly ridiculous subject matter (NB: as originally suggested by Shaun Keaveny for Murray’s weekly BBC6music poem) and also that it might offer some light relief for music fans, many of whom have had Nick Cave on loop for quite some time now.

Additional Credits: recorded by co-producer Adie Hardy (Unit2 studios) and featuring the bass guitar of Derek Chai and the dulcet tones of soprano Melanie Pappenheim. Mark Roberts plays percussion & synths, Lu Edmonds plays cümbüş & sings bVox.

Further information :

This project features the well-known poet MURRAY LACHLAN-YOUNG and a new band called BLABBERMOUTH performing soundscapes & grooves along with cutting-edge VJ Jules Shapter on live visuals & video mapping. We combine these into a semi-improvised (i.e. we can’t rehearse so we have to make it all up as we go along) live performance of our album “The Edge of Reason” which is to be released by Dirter Promotions in September.

Murray Lachlan-Young – for over 25 years has performed across the UK; currently BBC 6 poet-in-residence and often on Radio 4. His career spans everything from stand-up to Edinburgh festivals, test match special, a residency at CERN even the main stage at Glastonbury festival. His last collection was an Amazon best-seller and he would love to learn to levitate.

Blabbermouth – is a new project by veteran guitarist Lu Edmonds & master drummer Mark Roberts along with many prominent collaborators, singers & producers from all over the world as well as multilingual voice-robots. Regular readers will be aware that they released their debut album “HöRSPIEL” in 2019 on Dirter to critical acclaim.
