When Worlds Collide (Fourth Dimension Records)

“This 2 LP set brings together artists from Fourth Dimension Records and Lumberton Trading Company in a wide-ranging compilation that reflects the shared ethos of these two long-running experimental labels. The project was born from a collaborative event at London’s Café OTO in May 2024, featuring performances from Alternative TV, Splintered, Edward Ka-Spel, and Bass Communion.
Named after a favourite ’50s sci-fi film, the collection spans a broad spectrum of exploratory sound and shifting textures, showcasing the labels’ commitment to artists who defy easy categorisation. Tracks from Nick Mott, Sion Orgon, Theme, Final, Ashtray Navigations, Band of Pain, Senestra and Kleistwahr appear alongside the event performers, each contributing their own distinct voice to a rich and unpredictable listening experience”.

Steve Pittis, Mr Dirter himself, appears on a couple of tracks here: Splintered’s ‘The Horrors Of Linden (Edit)’ and his own Band of Pain project with a radically different version of ‘The Hyperdeldric Afterglow’, which also features Steven Stapleton.
